The Portfolio · United Republic of Tanzania

A Tanzanian portfolio, built to compliant code.

Universal Metal Limited holds prospecting positions in gold, diamond, marble and dimension stone, energy minerals, and critical minerals across mineral-rich regions of Tanzania. The portfolio is anchored by a flagship gold project in the Singida Region, positioned adjacent to a producing mid-tier gold operation and advancing toward mining license conversion.

01The company

An American mining company, incorporated in Tanzania.

Universal Metal Limited was incorporated in the United Republic of Tanzania in 2013 and operates as a principal-led, family-owned business. The company works in a single jurisdiction. Every license it holds, every application it advances, and every obligation it carries sits under the Tanzanian Mining Act and the supervision of the Mining Commission.

That concentration is deliberate. Tanzania's Archean greenstone geology hosts the country's established gold operations, and the statutory regime governing mineral tenure there is codified and administered through a public cadastre. A company that knows one regime well is better placed than a company spread thin across several.

The company recovers Tanzanian mineral wealth with the operating discipline required for long-duration value, not short-cycle extraction. The portfolio described on this page is held on a twenty- and thirty-year horizon, and the work program behind it is structured accordingly.

02Ground held

Ground held — five commodity groups.

Thirteen active prospecting licenses covering approximately 99 km², spanning precious metals, gemstones, industrial and dimension stone, energy minerals, and a critical-minerals position. Areas below are stated per commodity group.

Gold

Singida Region · Geita Region

The largest position in the portfolio and the company's development focus. The flagship project in the Singida Region is a greenstone-hosted gold asset sitting adjacent to a producing mid-tier gold operation, on the Tanzanian Craton formation that hosts the country's established producing mines. It is advancing toward mining license conversion.

Additional gold ground is held under active prospecting across the Singida and Geita regions. No resource or reserve statement is published for any gold position, and none will be, until qualified-persons sign-off is complete under the JORC reporting code.

Diamond

Shinyanga Region

Three kimberlitic diamond licenses in the Shinyanga Region, held under a license class directed at primary kimberlitic source rather than alluvial recovery. Shinyanga is Tanzania's established diamond district and the setting for the country's longest-running diamond operation.

The positions are held at prospecting stage. Any advancement to production would require the same statutory sequence that governs every other holding in the portfolio: resource definition under a recognized reporting code, environmental review and certification, and mining license issuance.

Marble & Dimension Stone

Babati

Three industrial-minerals licenses covering marble, slate, and dimension stone at Babati. These are lower-capital-intensity commodities with regional and construction-sector end markets, and they carry a shorter path from tenure to production than the metallic positions.

Dimension stone serves domestic Tanzanian construction demand as well as regional export. The commodity group is held as a working part of the portfolio rather than as a speculative position.

Energy

Coal

Tanzania

A single energy-minerals license held at prospecting stage. Tanzania's coal resource supports domestic power generation and industrial demand, and the license is held within the same standards framework that governs the rest of the portfolio.

No development decision has been taken on this position. Any future work program would be assessed against the environmental review requirements of the Tanzanian regime and the company's operating commitments set out below.

Tungsten

Tanzania

A wolframite license granted in March 2026 and running to 2030, the most recent addition to the portfolio. Tungsten appears on the critical or strategic raw materials lists maintained by the United States, the European Union, and Japan, which places the position in a different demand context from the precious-metals ground.

The license sits alongside pending applications in nickel, graphite, and tantalum-bearing minerals, described in the following section.

03Applications

Applications progressing through the Mining Commission.

Twelve applications are before the Mining Commission, extending the portfolio into battery and critical minerals and into coloured gemstones. Nine carry confirmed areas totalling approximately 209 km². Three are pending detail.

04Standards

Operating to standards that survive scrutiny.

Mining is essential — and it must operate with absolute transparency. The company's operating design references international frameworks by name rather than by aspiration, because a commitment without a referenced standard behind it is not a commitment.

Human rights

Operating design references the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct, and the ILO Core Conventions. Where applicable, free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) procedures are applied.

Environmental and social

Environmental and social management references the IFC Performance Standards (IFC PS), including PS1 on management systems, PS2 on labour, and PS5 on land acquisition. Environmental certification is a statutory precondition to mining license issuance in Tanzania.

Security

Security arrangements reference the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR). The framework governs how site security is engaged, trained, and held accountable, and it applies from the prospecting stage forward rather than at production.

Technical reporting

No resource, reserve, or deposit claim is published without qualified-persons sign-off under the JORC reporting code. Drill results are reported as intercepts within a mineralized envelope, never as deposit-wide characteristics.

Tanzanian statutory regime

A 16% government Free Carried Interest applies at mining license issuance. The company's operating structure includes 25% Indigenous Tanzanian ownership, and local content obligations under the Mining Act govern procurement, employment, and supplier development.

Tenure discipline

License status, work program execution, and fee currency are verified against the Tanzania Mining Cadastre Portal, the official public register. Tenure is a matter of public record and the company treats it as one.

05On inquiry

What to expect on inquiry.

The company receives inquiries from operating partners, contractors, technical consultants, suppliers, government and community stakeholders, and prospective colleagues. The routing below applies to all of them.

Step 01

Inquiries are received and triaged

Inquiries reach the company through the channels listed below and are triaged by subject. Technical, commercial, and operational matters are routed separately. A response is issued within two business days.

Step 02

Scope is established in conversation

The company confirms what is being proposed, which licenses or commodity groups it touches, and what the counterparty brings to it. Scope is settled in conversation before anything is committed to paper.

Step 03

Detailed material follows under confidentiality

Technical, legal, and operational material is made available through a controlled process under a standard non-disclosure agreement. This is ordinary practice for a company at this stage and applies without exception.
